Alyson Hannigan on Buffy, and Wonder Woman trolls: 'I'm just like, 'Dude, really?!'. Alyson Hannigan aka Willow answers questions about the misogynistic pushback on Wonder Woman as well as reflecting on one episode that meant a lot to her.

I think this has been a case of the media wanting a "misogynistic pushback". The movie has been a hit with critics, audiences love it and it's a smash hit at the box office. The overwhelming majority of people (including men!) like the movie.
Ricardo - yes, men, including my husband! We're not actually into superhero movies (although of course I had to see Avengers because: Joss), but I had to see this one in the theater. So my husband went with me, and was impressed - "better than I expected!" (I expected it to be excellent, because of the buzz. And hey, 92% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes!)

I do think there has been a little misogynistic stuff, but I haven't seen much. Of course the media is all about the jerk in the White House so they're not paying much attention to the Arts - except to the Public's Shakespeare in the Park silliness. Oh, well.

Anyway, I loved it.
It's probably a case of where you're hanging out. I've seen several places where there is a decidedly "misogynistic" slant in the comments. And it's not those small sites where nobody goes, but pretty popular entertainment sites.

Not going to name them, rather not direct more traffic to them.

Oh there's been some misogynistic push back. :(
How about some guy on Fox News claiming WW wasn't "American" enough and suggesting "Baywatch" is a better movie? He was wrong on both counts
If there's any real question about whether there's a misogynistic pushback against WW, read the comments just on that article alone. Between the pathetic MRAs and the pathetic right-wing politicizers, there's more than enough to prove Alyson's point. Don't bother with looking at other sites unless you have either a strong stomach or great antidepressants.
Yeah comments on 99percent of websites are not good for the soul.
